The Copernicus Berlin International Excellence Scholarship Programme provides students from Eastern and Southeastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia with the chance to experience a semester at a prestigious Berlin university. This program offers financial assistance, cultural experiences, and valuable internships, fostering both academic and personal growth for future leaders.

Scholarship Details

  • Organization: Copernicus Berlin
  • Level of Study: Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD
  • Host Institutions: Humboldt University (HU), Free University (FU), Berlin School of Economics and Law (HWR), and University of Potsdam in Berlin, Germany
  • Award Type: Full or partial scholarships
  • Eligible Regions: Eastern and Southeastern Europe, Caucasus, Central Asia
  • Application Deadlines:
    • For Winter Semester: October 1 – December 30
    • For Summer Semester: April 1 – June 30

Scholarship Benefits

Copernicus Berlin offers three scholarship tiers:

  1. Full Scholarship:
    • Monthly Stipend for pocket money
    • Health insurance
    • Accommodation and enrollment fees
    • Liability insurance
    • Educational trips, social, and cultural events
  2. Partial Scholarship PLUS:
    • Provides similar coverage as the full scholarship but requires participants to cover their travel and health insurance costs.
  3. Partial Scholarship:
    • Covers all costs except for 2 months of accommodation (1,650 EUR), travel, and health insurance, which must be covered by the recipient.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Copernicus Berlin International Excellence Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD program at a recognized higher education institution.
  • Possess above-average academic performance.
  • Hold citizenship in one of the eligible countries:
    • Eastern and Southeastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia, including Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Kosovo, Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia, Russia, Serbia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.
